Lately, I have been so into scrubs! Homemade and some bought ones. I’ve really always been more of a ‘Tomboy’ than a ‘Girly Girl’ but I will tell you ever since I have gotten into scrubs my skin has never felt so soft or alive. I have fallen in love with some of the organic scrubs from Daisy Blue Naturals as well as some from an Etsy friend I found at It’s the Balm. I’ve also had some fun making my own.
Recently from my girl trip to Vegas, I found out my girlfriend has been using store-bought crappy soft soap…ekkk right!! I promised her I would make her some and send it to her so she can see the difference. For those who don’t know most store body washes can do more harm to your skin than good. They work against you with harsh chemicals that can dry out your skin.
It’s so easy to make some homemade organic ones so, take 15 minutes and do your body a favor!
Lavender Body Sugar Scrub
Here is what you need:
- 1/2 cup organic sugar
- 1/2 cup organic brown sugar
- 1/4 cup coconut Oil
- 6-10 drops of Lavender Oil (click here to see what brand I prefer)
- 1/4 tsp vitamin E Oil
- Dried Lavender Flowers (optional)
- Empty containers
I melted the coconut oil in a double boiler just enough to make it a liquid, you don’t want it too hot that it will melt the sugars.
After it was melted and cooled a bit I added in the sugars, oils and dried lavender flowers.
I then put it into 3 small containers since I was going to be giving these away as gifts if you are keeping it all for yourself you might want to put it in one of those wide mouth short mason jars.
