I’m a Foster Fail and found a great way to clean floors without harsh chemicals

So if you noticed my fourth of July post on Facebook you probably noticed I’m a puppy foster fail, don’t worry that’s not a bad thing. It just means that we were fostering a puppy and well we just couldn’t see giving him up, so we decided to adopt him. If you look at the photo you will see just how stinking cute he is and why we couldn’t give him up. Who can resist those floppy ears!! One of my good friends is involved with a great organization that rescues dogs on death row (Grahamville Rescue). They grab dogs from shelters just as they are about to be euthanized and find fosters to keep them until they can find forever homes. She had posted there were about 4-5 puppies that were going to be killed if they couldn’t find fosters. So being one that can’t bear to see innocent animals being killed just because someone else gave them up I had to step in and help.

Well, it’s been about 20 years since I have had a puppy and wow did I forget how much work they are! Our other dog (also a rescue) was about 1.5 years when we got him so we missed most of the puppy stages. Most are cute little things but the puppy potty training not so much! This little guy just doesn’t seem to want to poop outside. Agh the messes!

Well lucky for me about the time we decided to adopt him I got a product in the mail for review. It was an eCloth deep clean mop; I love it! It deep cleans without harsh chemicals and let me tell you with a little puppy around I always need some deep cleaning! And often!

I love the fact that you only need water and that it’s reusable. We really have been trying to get all the non-necessary chemicals out of this house and this fits right in with our plans. This is so easy to use too! I just get it wet, toss it on the floor and then place the handle on top (it sticks by velcro) and off we go. If it gets too dirty, you can just rinse it and then continue on. Once you are done you can just toss it in the washer for a good cleaning.

There is also a dust mop topper that I just ordered. We have all hardwood floors and the vacuum can only get so much, in the past I have used a Swiffer, but I hate that I have to keep purchasing and tossing the clothes. We are up to 2 dogs and a cat now so let me tell you there’s lots of fur flying around.

Baxter is still not a fan of the mop yet; he is doing that cute little puppy thing that he barks at it when I use the mop. Ok well, it was cute for the first 3 minutes!

I have been using baking soda to clean my kitchen and bathroom, and to clean glass, I have been using vinegar.

I use vinegar and baking soda, but need more products and ways to reduce chemicals when cleaning and doing laundry etc. This mop would be what I need to for getting my floors clean without chemicals!

I use only nontoxic household cleaners in my house. When I made the switch, I immediately noticed a change in my asthma!

I use my own window cleaner made with vinegar water and a drop of dish soap. Floor cleaner vinegar and water.

I reduce chemicals in my home by using a few simple cleaners for my whole house instead of specialty cleaners for each task.
