As you might have known, Fall has now become also known as Pumpkin Pie Spice recipe season. I’m not a huge die-hard fan but I do love a delicious pumpkin spice latte.
I recently bought a commercial brand of pumpkin pie spice and when I turned it over and looked at the ingredients it contained Sulfiting agents, UGH I really should know better by now that many spice mixes have added fillers. So what is a sulfiting agent? It’s a preservative and in my opinion, really doesn’t need to be in my pumpkin pie spice! There are also many that have a sensitivity to sulfiting agents (like me).
So I want to show you just how quick and easy it is to home make your own pumpkin spice mix… seriously it takes like 2 minutes and you can make a huge batch all at once so you are set for the baking season.
1. Grab yourself a cute jar, I used this one.
2. Grab your individual ground spices, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice.
3. Combine in the cute jar and shake or blend them together! It’s super easy!
Below is the recipe I used for my pumpkin spice mix but there are many variations out there.
So in just 2 minutes, I homemade enough pumpkin pie spice mix for the season and now I know that it’s gluten-free. Plus you can save a little money by making it on your own.
Ok, time for me to go make a pumpkin pie spice coffee latte… what are your favorite pumpkin spice recipes? Perhaps it’s a freshly baked pumpkin pie or some pumpkin spice cookies? Yummy and I think I might have to do some baking this weekend too!
