Helping you ditch the toxins one day at a time
Life is too short to have an autoimmune disease hold you back
Hi There! Jen here; I'm a work-at-home web designer mom to two wonderful kids and wife to my wonderful husband of 24 years. We live in the Chicago suburbs with our 2 dogs, a cat, and 6 chickens.
I was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE), and with that came many food allergies... lots and lots of food allergies. At first, I thought it was a curse, but I have slowly realized it was a blessing because I have been looking at the food we have been eating and the products we have been using. I am allergic to wheat, cow's milk, beef, soy, sesame, eggs, tree nuts, gluten, and a few other things I have lost count of, so as you can see, my menu is a challenge. I've been having fun learning to cook, and while most meals have been good, there have been quite a few disasters 🙂 My Saturday morning addiction is watching all of my Food Network shows recorded throughout the week. I have learned to heal through better food choices, ditching the toxins from our lifestyle, supplements, and essential oils.
My son has Hashimoto's and Down syndrome, so this journey has not been just my own.
Check out the full story about my EoE journey here.
Other passions include wine drinking, collecting stationery, traveling, and marching band season.
So what's this blog about?
This blog is sort of a mix of ramblings and how-tos. My main goal is to be entertaining and to teach you how to live a toxic-free and chemical-free life, well as much as you can.
My dad passed away from cancer and about that same time, I developed EoE. Because of those 2 life-changing events, I really started looking into what was in our food, and then that led me to what we're also using for cleaning products, what I was using for beauty products and other things around the house. I am finding how simple and less expensive it is, to start living a cleaner life. I'm not perfect, but I strive to make myself a little better each day.
I hope you can join in on this journey. Please let me know about yours.
Have a joyful day!
